Diversidad is supported by the European Commission through the DG Education & Culture

Culture policy and intercultural dialogue unit
At the heart of the Directorate General for Education and Culture, two units collaborate closely to promote culture in Europe.
DG Education and Culture of the European Commission implements the EU’s culture and education policy.  Its main objectives are the promotion of cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue, the promotion of culture as a catalyst for creativity, and the promotion of culture as a vital part of the EU’s external relations. DG EAC also puts into effect the Culture Programme (2007-2013) in co-operation with the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency.

This programme finances hundreds of projects promoting the transnational mobility of cultural actors, encouraging the transnational flow of art works and of cultural and artistic products, as well as encouraging intercultural dialogue.
The Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) is responsible for the management of certain parts of the EU’s programmes in the fields of education, culture and audiovisual. The Executive Agency operates under supervision from its three parent Directorates-General of the European Commission: Education and Culture (DG EAC), Communication (DG COMM) and EuropeAid Cooperation Office (DG AIDCO).
